Our Purpose

The How

We believe that addressing the challenges of the climate crisis requires action across every time-horizon. In the here-and-now, to support those whose lives and livelihoods have been destroyed by the effects of a changing climate. In the medium-term, to enable policy change to support ambitious action and prevent further destruction. In the longer-term, to fund impactful research that helps us live within the Earth’s planetary boundary related to climate change.

The What

Our goal is to play some part in addressing the global climate emergency at each stage, by supporting the humanitarian, policy and research teams who are already part of the solution, but are restrained by a lack of resources or by the sheer scale of the challenge. We do this by channelling financial support to those that are working to respond to or mitigate the impact of climate change across our three core areas.

The Where

The Askehave Climate Foundation does not focus on specific geographical regions or topic areas within the climate space. Instead, funding decisions are motivated by the Foundation’s passion for closing the gaps between need and capacity, and between knowledge and tangible action.
